CLEARWATER, FL -- The retreading facility of GCR Tire Centers, located in Clearwater, Fla. has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.

It is GCR Tire’s first retreading facility to receive the quality designation.

GCR Tire Centers is operated by BFRC Commercial Tire Group, a division of BFS Retail & Commercial Operations (BFRC). BFRC operates 29 GCR Tire Centers retreading facilities in North America.

The ISO 9001:2000 certification recognizes facilities that have developed procedures that help increase employee quality awareness, reduce re-work and consumer complaints and lower costs.

Currently, six other GCR Tire Centers retreading facilities are in the process of becoming ISO 9001:2000 certified.

“We have worked hard to achieve this certification, and we are proud to offer our customers this added quality assurance,” said Joe Little, director of North American manufacturing for GCR Tire Centers, in a release.
