Robert Bosch said Wednesday it had acquired a majority interest in Oil Control Group, an Italian maker of hydraulic machine tool parts.
"Bosch has acquired a majority stake," the German group said in a statement without revealing the financial details.
The transaction still required approval by the relevant authorities, it said.
The Italian firm, which employs a workforce of more than 900 and has annual sales of $150 million, would be integrated into Bosch's Rexroth unit, the statement said.
