RALEIGH, NC -- At its December meeting, the board of directors of General Parts, Inc. appointed O. Temple Sloan, III as its president and CEO, effective January 31.

In addition, Robert Blair was appointed executive vice president of marketing. Blair previously served as president, CARQUEST Canada, LTD., in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Michael Riess was named president of CARQUEST Canada, LTD., replacing Blair.

Art Lottes, III has been named president of product management, and will continue to serve as president of CARQUEST Corp. Wayne Lavrack continues as president of the Store Group.

O. Temple Sloan, Jr. will continue as chairman and CEO of the holding company, The International Group, Inc. Joe Owen will serve as vice chairman of the International Group, Inc.
