CHANTILLY, VA --
Bill Peake, CEO of B&T Rebuilders, a division of Champion Parts Inc. in Port Richey, Fla., has been selected as the new secretary of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA).
Peake has been involved with the automotive industry for more than 25 years, and worked in the automotive service sector for 14 years. Much of his knowledge was obtained from the vo-tech schools he attended throughout his career in the service sector, as well as hands on experience in the field. It was during his time in the service sector Peake started rebuilding automotive air conditioning compressors to meet demands for quality and availability. Later, he began supplying local auto supply chains and in 1992, he left the service sector and formed B&T Rebuilders to concentrate on the remanufacturing and wholesale distribution of A/C compressors. In 2001, Bill sold the assets of B&T to Champion Parts Inc., where he has remained general manager. Shortly after Champion purchased B&T, Peake purchased the industrial park the company was located in, enabling them to triple capacity. In 2003 the company became ISO Certified.
Peake has served on the board of directors for APRA’s A/C Division for the past five years. In this role, he has organized A/C Clinics and worked with the membership. Peake will serve on the APRA executive committee and will become APRA chairman in 2010.
