Women's Board Scholarship Application Deadlines Extended

BETHESDA, MD -- The deadline to apply for the 2005 Women’s Board (WB) high school scholarships has been extended to April 13. The deadlines for those applying for post-secondary scholarships is May 13.

The high school scholarship is open to female high school seniors who plan on attending an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program, and candidates must satisfy and submit the following:

* current grade point average and graduation date;
* official transcript with embossed school seal and instructor’s letter of recommendation;
* completed scholarship application;
* proof of acceptance by the school they’ll be attending;
* a brief narrative about their goals and why this scholarship is important to them; and
* a brief description of their community service and extra curricular activities.

Post-secondary scholarships are open to female students who have completed one year at an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program, and they must satisfy and submit the following:

* a 2.5 or better overall grade point average;
* official transcript with embossed school seal and instructor’s letter of recommendation;
* completed scholarship application;
* a brief narrative about their goals and why this scholarship is important to them; and
* a brief description of their community service activities.

Applications are sent to NATEF-certified vocational schools. If you know someone eligible for either scholarship, applications can be downloaded by visiting the WB Web site at http://women.carcare.org and clicking “WB Scholarships.” A full list of current scholarship program sponsors is listed on the site as well.
