MIAMI -- Ryder System, Inc. announced it was named a Visteon Important Partner (VIP) by Visteon Corporation for exemplifying "Best in Class" performance and going above-and-beyond to meet Visteon's needs.

"We view our supplier partners as an extension of our business and continuously work to foster stronger and more collaborative relationships with the goal of delivering innovative, cost-effective, high-quality products to our customers," said Paul Radkoski, vice president, North American Materials Management. "It's a value-based marketplace and Visteon is focused on creating a value-based supply chain for our customers."

The VIP program is a global program that was first established in 2001. Winners are selected by a global cross-functional Visteon team with input from manufacturing, product development, supplier quality, customer business groups and purchasing, all of which are impacted by supplier performance. Selection criteria are focused on supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, value, technical capability and customer service. Award recipients must achieve 100 percent concurrence across all customer functions and operating regions to confirm that they have demonstrated the high level of performance that Visteon promotes within its supply base. Supplier awards were granted for the following areas: metals, non-metals, non-production goods and services, electronics and transportation. Visteon also recognized an exemplary minority supplier from North America.
