PHILADELPHIA -- The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack, has donated $5,000 to the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC), a national non-profit recreation group, to support their promotion of the responsible use of public lands by recreationists and off-road enthusiasts.

As one of the sellers of off-road transportation products, such as ATVs, go-karts and dirt bikes, the automotive parts and service chain takes an interest in supporting shared usage of public lands for its customers, while remaining steadfast in its commitment.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Pep Boys is committed to preserving and protecting our natural resources. Likewise, the BlueRibbon Coalition works to preserve natural resources for recreational use and encourages individual environmental stewardship.

According to Chuck Rigby, Pep Boys' assistant vice president-divisional merchandising manager for transportation products, "We are pleased to support the BlueRibbon Coalition and we see this partnership as a way to demonstrate our support for our customers who purchase off-road items and safety gear from Pep Boys."

"The BRC is proud that Pep Boys has chosen to support our efforts to champion responsible use of public lands," BRC Executive Director Clark Collins said. "This generous donation will increase our ability to educate riders about staying on the trail, respecting the rights of other users and finding win-win solutions to recreation access issues."

Pep Boys also promotes its Ride Smart Program designed to provide safety guidelines and tips for personal transportation items, including ATVs. The program emphasizes safe, legal and sensible operation of these products, which is in line with BRC's mission to facilitate equitable and responsible land use.
