Interamerican Motor Corporation Names Chris Kern Manager of Program Sales

CANOGA, CA -- Chris Kern, automotive aftermarket veteran of more than 31 years has joined importer and wholesale distributor IMC (Interamerican Motor Corporation), headquartered in Canoga Park, CA, as manager of program sales.

Chris’ background includes 27 years with Beck/Anrley. He started with Beck in 1974 as a warehouse employee. While attending night school, he advanced through the organization including stints as customer service manager, warehouse manager and district sales manager. Later, Kern was promoted to Western sales manager, where he led a team of 24 district and regional managers. After a dozen years in sales management, he moved to Beck/Arnley’s headquarters in Nashville where, for seven years, he was the director of marketing.

After leaving Beck/Arnley, Kern was director of national sales with Autopart International in Sharon, MA, for two years. Kern then joined Qualitee International as director of marketing. After eight months with Qualitee, (which later became AutoPartSource) he became general manager and was later named vice president/general manager.

Kern has an undergraduate degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton and a master’s degree in marketing from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. He is the 2002 AIA Lifetime Achiever Award recipient in recognition of his contributions to the import parts industry.

His new responsibilities include the development of new markets for IMC.
