BETHESDA, MD -- The Car Care Council Women’s Board named Jennifer Tio its second annual "Aftermarket Woman of the Year." The announcement was made during the 2005 Women’s Board reception, which took place on Tuesday, Nov. 1, during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.

“We are all very proud of Jennifer and applaud her many years of dedicated service to the automotive aftermarket,” said Judy Scholl, Women’s Board recruitment and retention committee chair. “We are honored to have her represent all women within the industry.”

Tio was chosen by the Women’s Board executive committee based on her longevity in the aftermarket, her career accomplishments, her leadership capabilities and dedication to the automotive aftermarket industry.

Tio joined Maximum Marketing Services in 1985, and currently serves as executive vice president. She is experienced in the management and execution of all facets of marketing communications, from advertising and public relations, to research and promotions. She has spent a significant portion of her career managing marketing functions for many clients in the automotive aftermarket. Tio is also an experienced focus group moderator and has been active in many aftermarket industry associations, including serving as president of the Car Care Council Women’s Board and second vice president of the Automotive Communication Council.

Tio is a native of Chicago. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind. and a master’s of business administration degree from Loyola University in Chicago.

Tio will step down from her position as president of the Women’s Board in January, 2006, where she has served for the past five years. Under her leadership, the Women’s Board experienced significant growth to include 74 members and established many successful programs, including the post-secondary and high school scholarship program, the women.carcare.org Web site and the “Women on Board” newsletter.

The Women’s Board is comprised of professional women and men, including company executives, service shop owners, service writers, motor sports figures, association executives and consultants, who are dedicated to informing female audiences about proper vehicle maintenance and safety, while encouraging young people to investigate automotive career choices.
