BEIJING --
Robert Bosch GmbH is trying to persuade the Chinese government to develop a diesel-powered vehicle market.
Diesel-powered vehicles only have a small share of the Chinese market at present, and are expected to hold 15 percent in the next 10 years, Franz Fehrenbach, chairman of the board of management of Bosch, said in an interview.
Bosch conducted a survey on diesel-powered vehicles in the European market last month, and has submitted the market research report to the Chinese government, hoping the country will develop supporting policies.
The move is an by Bosch effort to strike its competitors by introducing the diesel system to the Chinese market first, as the Germany-based company owns an 80 percent share of the global diesel system market, according to insiders.
