BOUCHERVILLE, Québec -- Uni-Select USA, a subsidiary of Uni-Select Inc., has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of The Kunz Oil Co. Kunz Oil operates a distribution center and three branch locations, for automotive replacement parts in Minneapolis, MN, and adjoining suburbs. The closing of the transaction is to take place on November 30.

This acquisition is expected to add annual sales of $10 million to Uni-Select's Automotive Group USA. Following the transaction, the business of Kunz Oil will be operated in conjunction with Uni-Select’s existing business unit headquartered in St. Paul, MN. Both Kunz Oil and Uni-Select USA are members of Automotive Distribution Network (ADN), supplying the upper Midwest market under the Parts Plus banner.

Uni-Select’s acquisition of Kunz is the latest of several additions to the company’s U.S. roster this year. In June, Uni-Select purchased the assets of Action Automotive Distributing, Inc., a large jobber located in the state of Washington, and Kirkland Auto Parts, Inc., a smaller jobber located in the same area. Uni-Select also acquired part of the assets of Johnson Industries, Inc. located in Texas and Oklahoma and the assets of Motor Parts Warehouse, Inc., a warehouse distributor with activities in St. Louis, MO. In addition, Uni-Select completed the acquisition of the assets of Marton, Inc., in New England and sold, to a customer, its store located in Lawrence, MA.

Uni-Select is Canada’s second largest distributor of automotive and heavy-duty replacement parts, equipment, tools and accessories. Through Uni-Select USA, Inc., the company also provides service to customers in the U.S. The Uni-Select Network includes more than 2,000 independent jobbers and services 3,142 points of sale in Canada and the United States. Uni-Select is headquartered in Montreal and is expected to generate revenues in excess of $1.1 billion (CDN) in 2005. Uni-Select shares (UNS) are traded on the Toronto Stock
