NEW HAVEN, CT -- IWD has announced its first Auto Pride member in Mexico: Mercado de Refacciones de Mexicali Baja California. One of the largest independent parts distributors in Mexico, Mercado de Refacciones was founded in 1976 and is owned and operated by the Salgado family. Luis Javier Salgado is the administrative manager. The company serves four states in Mexico from its state-of-the-art warehouse facility and 14 state-of-the-art store locations.

Mercado de Refacciones is one of the few Mexican distributors offering delivery service. The company has 360 employees and 80 delivery trucks. The company uses the ICAS computer system and manages a very sophisticated operation, according to IWD. Thirty percent of its business is to independent jobbers and 70 percent is to a combination of retail and wholesale customers.
