LEXINGTON, KY -- Julie Gondak has joined Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc., in a key brand management role, according to Robert Craycraft, senior vice president and general manager, retail business.
In this new position, Gondak has global responsibility for the AroMetrics brand, Valvoline’s new automotive fragrance system. AroMetrics features 15 scents with consistent fragrance release that lasts up to 45 days. With an adjustable scent control mechanism and proprietary fragrance technology, AroMetrics allows users to control fragrance intensity depending on their needs.
In a related move to strengthen the AroMetrics brand, Karen Insko becomes business development manager, reporting to Gondak. Formerly, Insko was category manager.
Gondak comes to Valvoline with more than 10 years of brand management experience, working the past four years at Fazoli’s Italian Restaurants with responsibility for developing and implementing all marketing initiatives for the chain. Gondak’s prior work history includes brand manager at Hasbro, where she was responsible for developing and rolling out the product line for several movie releases; brand manager for Wendy’s International; and account executive at various advertising agencies.
Gondak earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in English and communications from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL, in 1991. She is located in Lexington, KY, and reports to Cheryl Zimbrick, director, AroMetrics.
