CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ -- Aftermarket technology solutions provider icarz, Inc. has reported that CARQUEST member General Parts Inc. (GPI), headquartered in Raleigh, NC, now has more than 1,200 stores live on the icarz system. This is double the number the company had just five months ago.

The icarz PartsWatch system, deployed by CARQUEST as Exploris, offers a rich graphical user interface, built-in Internet connectivity and open communications, as well as the capability to offer central services to run the stores.

Commenting on the implementation project, Temple Sloan III, president of General Parts, said, "We have long envisioned being able to use technology as a competitive advantage for CARQUEST. icarz technology, with its open architecture, is a key contributor in enabling us to realize our goals. We are very proud of the team’s achievements this past year in rolling out our new Exploris store system as a core part of our efforts.”

According to Jesse Hermann, president of icarz, GPI’s installation of icarz Exploris in more than 1,200 General Parts’ stores in such a short time frame has been an unprecedented achievement in the aftermarket and “a testament to partnership between General Parts and icarz.”

“Exploris has ushered in the next generation of technology for the automotive aftermarket, creating new opportunities for us to deliver superior services and support to our customers, while driving the cost out of our business,” said Joe Zucchero, senior vice president and CIO of General Parts.

Sanjay Apte, executive vice president of icarz, commented, “Our focus at icarz remains continued innovation. We are excited to see a customer so successfully deploy our system and realize the benefits of open systems and new technology. We are thrilled to be able to work with a forward-thinking and customer-focused partner like General Parts.”
