MISSISSAUGA, Ontario --
UView Ultraviolet Systems Inc. has filed suit in the Federal Court of Canada against Brasscorp Ltd., which does business as Cliplight Manufacturing Co., for patent infringement.
UView claims that Cliplight’s Revolver dye injection system infringes on one or more claims of Canadian Patent 2235673, which is directed to UView’s mechanical dye injection device.
UView manufactures UV dye and injection systems for automotive and HVAC applications. UView’s dye injector, sold under the SPOTGUN trademark, allows the user to inject a precise amount of dye or other additive into vehicle air conditioning systems or other pressurized systems. The product is distributed globally, both as a UView branded product as well as private label.
“It has been almost 10 years since its the introduction of our SPOTGUN dye injector and there are still companies copying the technology,” said UView President Tony Ferraro. “We have been successful in defending the Spotgun Invention in many countries and against many competitors.”
