DELRAY BEACH, FL --
Office Depot has announced the winner of a promotion announced earlier this year, which gives small businesses the chance to take advantage of a major motorsports marketing opportunity.
From February 12 through April 9, employees or owners of small businesses with no more than 99 employees were given the chance to enter the "Official Small Business of NASCAR" Sweepstakes via the Office Depot website or at any Office Depot retail store.
K&M Storage of Dodge City, KS, will become the "Official Small Business of NASCAR, courtesy of Office Depot" for the remainder of the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race season. The winning company is being celebrated at Lowe's Motor Speedway, where K&M Storage owner Duane Nietling will join with NASCAR star Carl Edwards, Roush Racing owner Jack Roush and Tony Ueber, senior vice president of marketing for Office Depot, to unveil the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion. The car features the new K&M Storage logo that will make its debut on track during the Coca-Cola 600 (Saturday, May 27, 5:00 p.m. ET, FOX).
As the Official Small Business of NASCAR, K&M Storage, a self-storage facility, is receiving invaluable exposure that can jump start a small business, especially one that is new. Founded just 18 months ago, K&M did not have the resources to develop its own company logo or marketing materials, an obstacle that Office Depot has helped them overcome. Nietling worked with Logoworks, part of the Office Depot Copy, Print and Ship service to create K&M's first-ever company logo. The new K&M logo is being featured on the TV panel (rear panel on a NASCAR racecar) of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion during this weekend's race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Throughout the rest of the season, the logo will be on the car's b-post (located between the front and rear windows).
As part of the prize package, Office Depot is also printing a year's supply of new business cards, letterhead and envelopes for K&M to use. Plus, K&M receives a $10,000 small business makeover from Office Depot, as well as the advice of a small business expert to help K&M take full advantage of their new business and marketing assets.
To kick off K&M Storage's role as the "Official Small Business of NASCAR," Nietling and three guests are spending a VIP weekend in Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600, including a tour of the Roush Racing shop, and the opportunity to meet Edwards and the Office Depot No. 99 team.
