Brand Protection Council to Hold Free Webinar on Protecting Intellectual Property at Trade Shows

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association’s Brand Protection Council is offering a free webinar from 2-3 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 11, on “Identifying and Taking Action Against IPR Violations at AAPEX.”

The event is designed to assist exhibitors in arming themselves against counterfeiters and other forms of intellectual property rights violations. Marc Fleischaker, a partner with Arent Fox, and one of the AAPEX show attorneys will lead the discussion.

Participants will learn:

• How to prepare before a trade show

• What constitutes a violation

• What to look for at an exhibit

• What to bring to the show (e.g. patents, copyright registrations, etc.)

• Tips on how to approach possible violators

• How and when to get show management involved

• Actions taken by show management

• Consequences to IPR violators

The webinar will conclude with question and answer session.
