Exxon Mobil Builds New Baton Rouge Plant

ExxonMobil Chemical will start construction next month on a new facility at its Baton Rouge, LA, complex to produce specialty compounded products starting in the second quarter of 2007.

The Baton Rouge plant will have the capability to manufacture a broad spectrum of engineered thermoplastic materials for the automotive and consumer products industries. These commercial compounds products include ExxonMobil Chemical's Performance Polyolefin grades, Santoprene thermoplastic elastomers and other specialty elastomers.
