SOUTHFIELD, MI -- Auto supplier Lear Corp. said Monday it plans to consolidate its North American customer group in hopes of streamlining its operations and improving efficiency in an increasingly competitive automotive market.
The North American division will be consolidated into the three existing product groups of seating, electrical and interior systems.
As part of the reorganization, Jim Brackenbury, Lear's president for North American seating systems, will become president for European operations.
In addition, Ray Scott, Lear's president for the North American customer group, will become president for North American seating systems.
Miguel Herrera-Lasso, president for electrical and electronics systems; Joe Zimmer, president for interior systems; and Lou Salvatore, president for the Asian customer group, will continue in their respective roles.
Lear shares closed down 8 cents at $18.30 on the New York Stock Exchange.
