CLEVELAND, OH -- Eaton Corp. grew third-quarter profits by 25 percent through strong fluid power and electric sales.
But company officials said slowing residential construction and decreasing American and Brazilian automotive production and Brazilian agricultural equipment production will likely prevent a repeat performance in the fourth quarter.
The Cleveland, OH-based company manufactures electrical and hydraulic components and systems for the automotive and aircraft industries.
Eaton posted earnings of $248 million or $1.62 per share in the quarter ending Sept. 30, compared with $199 million last year.
