BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec -- Uni-Select has purchased Plastique Royal, a distributor of automotive paint and body shop products that operates from a warehouse located in the City of Laval, Province of Quebec.

Plastique Royal will operate as an independent business unit and will be part of Automotive Group Canada. According to Uni-Select, the specialty products distributed by Plastique Royal will, in time, be offered across Canada. These products are an addition to the offering of products distributed through Uni-Select's warehouses and are primarily sold to body shop and collision repair specialists.

Jacques Landreville, president and CEO of Uni-Select and Michel Roy, president of Plastique Royal issued the following joint statement about the acquisition, “We truly look forward to build on the acquired expertise and expand this business throughout the Uni-Select Network.”

The acquisition is expected to add annual sales of $5 million to Uni-Select's Automotive Group Canada.
