BEIJING -- Robert Bosch GmbH, one of the leading auto parts suppliers in the world, is planning to increase its procurement spending in China to approximately $1.3 billion this year from approximately $400 million in 2006.
Compared with the total procurement spending of about $27 billion, the spending in China is only a small part, disclosed a source from Robert Bosch GmbH.
Under pressures from Japanese automakers, many U.S. auto parts suppliers and complete car manufacturers begin seeking suppliers in China and India, in a bid to reduce their costs.
