WIXOM, MI -- NGK Spark Plugs was presented the General Motors 2006 Supplier of the Year award for its overall business performance in providing GM with world-class parts and services. The 15th annual award – themed the “Best of the Best” – was given during ceremonies Saturday, March 31,2007 at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in Orlando, Fla.

According to Bo Andersson, GM group vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, NGK achieved the award based on outstanding performance in 2006.

“We are honored by this prestigious award and appreciate the acknowledgement of General Motors,” said Shin Odo, president and CEO of NGK Spark Plugs (USA), Inc. “Winning this award is a testament to the NGK team and our commitment to provide our customers with superior quality and service.”

The GM Supplier of the Year award, which was created in 1992, is determined each year by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. GM this year honored 89 suppliers for their outstanding performance throughout 2006.
