TROY, MI -- Delphi has named Walter Guertler as the company's new global Gas Engine Management Systems (EMS) sales director, effective June 4. Guertler replaces the retiring Gary Bertolini following his more than 37 years with GM/Delphi in engineering, operations and sales assignments.

Guertler joins Delphi from Siemens VDO Automotive where he was a vice president and key account executive on the Chrysler account in Auburn Hills, MI.

"We are thrilled to have Walter Guertler join our team and continue Delphi's tradition of excellence in engine management systems," said Scott Bailey, Delphi's General Manager for Gas EMS. "His varied experience and industry knowledge will prove invaluable as we continue to offer manufacturers high-value options to meet a variety of emissions requirements and performance deliverables to customers around the globe."

Guertler earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Germany's Stuttgart University with a specialization in vehicle technology and combustion engines. Guertler's experience includes more than 16 years of sales and business development work with Siemens Automotive, including assignments in Germany and the United States.

Guertler resides with his wife and daughter in Rochester, MI.
