ROCHESTER, MI – G&B Distribution, a supplier of hub assemblies, wheel bearings, window lift motors, regulator assemblies, wiper motors, pulse boards and door lock actuators, has named Derek Billis as director of service sales and engineering.

Reporting directly to G&B President Curt Powers, Billis will be responsible for growing the OE parts and service side of G&B’s business. His team is charged with engineering and developing new products designed to manufacturers’ vehicle specs that are sold through traditional aftermarket channels as well as OE dealer service operations.

A University of Michigan graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering, Billis brings more than 10 years of experience to his new role, including two years at General Motors and five years as manager of his own company.

“Derek’s managerial and engineering expertise, combined with his understanding of the OE parts and service business, will be invaluable in developing innovative products and programs for our growing customer base,” said Powers.

Powers noted that G&B has taken steps in strengthening its support to WD and OE service customers. In the past six months, the company has expanded its line of premium quality products, dedicated inventories to service both markets and implemented just-in-time delivery systems. Earlier this year, G&B relocated its corporate headquarters and primary distribution center to a new, significantly larger facility more accessible to OE customers in the Detroit metropolitan area. The facility recently earned ISO 9001:2000 certification.
