BETHESDA, MD -- Nick Porrini, president, Technologue, was recently presented with the Aftermarket Visionary Award at the Aftermarket eForum in Chicago. Kathleen Schmatz, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), made the presentation at the annual industry symposium focused on technology and supply chain solutions.
The Aftermarket Visionary Award is presented annually at the Aftermarket eForum to the individual, "whose words and deeds demonstrate vision and imagination in the application of technology to the betterment of the aftermarket industry." The winner is selected by the members of the AAIA Technology Standards and Solutions Committee. Previous winners of the Visionary Award are Ed Heon, DATAgility (2006) and Mike Williams, O'Reilly Auto Parts (2005).
Porrini was recognized for his generous contributions to the industry by advancing catalog data standards. His company, Technologue, is a key partner to AAIA in researching, managing and publishing the detailed vehicle configuration data that forms the cornerstone of the AAIA Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES).
"When you think of people who embody the best characteristics of an industry association, Nick Porrini comes to mind," Schmatz said. "Volunteer-led groups like AAIA depend on members with vision and determination to help lead the organization. We've been lucky to have Nick Porrini associated with our Technology Standards Committee from the very beginning."
