LOS ANGELES -- The assets of Zolatone Automotive, Industrial and Marine Division of Surface Protection Industries Inc. has been purchased by Quest Specialty Chemicals Inc. and will become part of Zolatone’s Advanced Refinish Technologies Division (A.R.T.) located in Walled Lake, MI.

A.R.T. will continue to support existing Zolatone customers and distributors and will enhance the Zolatone product line and customer service, the company said. The company said there will be minimal service disruptions during the short transition of Zolatone's manufacturing and finished goods warehousing.

Quest said it acquired Zolatone knowing its unique position in the market which is characterized by its flexibility, color-match capabilities and service. All formulas have been transferred and will be followed using Zolatone's specified production processes and raw materials.

Zolatone also announced that Robert Hensley will join the company as national sales manager, and Ron Sheeler and Tim Archer will join as regional sales managers.
