SALEM, OH -- The Get Nitrogen Institute (GNI) has announced that Haltec Corp. has joined the organization to promote the economic benefits of efficient, accurate and safe tire inflation. Haltec’s line of automatic tire inflation systems adapts to any nitrogen system and provides a tire inflation and maintenance database, the company said.

“Being a member of the Get Nitrogen Institute will allow Haltec Corp. to further its mission to promote best practices in tire safety,” said Ken Coyne, sales and marketing manager for Haltec. “We want our customers and partners to experience the ease of use when converting and maintaining proper tire inflation with the benefits of nitrogen.”

GNI is a non-profit organization located in Denver that educates consumers, over-the-road truckers, fleet managers and others about the benefits of using nitrogen in tires. Haltec joins other GNI members such as Costco Wholesale and Branick Industries in the movement to promote nitrogen tire inflation throughout the U.S.

Using nitrogen instead of other gasses to fill tires has been proven to prolong tire life, increase fuel economy, reduce dependence on foreign oil and protect the environment by reducing consumption of oil by-products used to manufacture tires, GNI said. More than three million American drivers currently use nitrogen in their tires along with members of NASCAR, Formula One and Indy race teams, NASA, the U.S. Air Force, Le Mans and Federal Express.

“We are pleased to welcome Haltec into the GNI network,” said Brian Brasch, president of the Get Nitrogen Institute. “Together, we will continue to promote the use of nitrogen in tires and provide all drivers with the most accurate and up-to-date information on nitrogen tire inflation available.”
