TROY, MI -- Delphi Corp., which is reorganizing under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, improved its earnings for the third quarter.
The Troy, MI-based auto supplier posted a $1.2-billion loss, or $2.08 a share, between July and September, on sales of $6.2 billion, Delphi said in a statement Tuesday morning.
That compares to a $2 billion loss, or $3.51 cents a share, on sales of $6 billion during the same period last year.
Part of the loss comes from onetime charges of $480 million, which include the warranty charges and the company's buyout and early retirement programs.
