STAUNTON, VA – Marvin Mastroff, founder and president of Miami-based Cold Air Distributors, passed away on Jan. 24 after a prolonged illness. He was 75.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of a longtime friend and Federated member, Marvin Mastroff," said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “Marvin touched many lives. He exemplified the very best of those self-made men who rose to success while possessing a remarkable business ethic, a profound devotion to family and friends, and an uncanny sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by a host of friends and business acquaintances.”

Born in Rockledge, PA, on December 14, 1933, Mastroff graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia. In 1956, he moved to Miami and worked as an independent automotive parts jobber before embarking on his own in 1963 and becoming founder and president of Cold Air Distributors. He built his company to its present 15 locations throughout South, Central and West Florida. For the past seven years, Cold Air has grown and prospered under the leadership of Mastroff’s son, Russell. During his storied career, Mastroff also served on the board of directors of IMACA, MACS and on the board of governors for Federated.

Mastroff is survived by his wife, Elinor; daughter Laura Mastroff (Frank) Barry; son Russell (Davita) Mastroff; and beloved grandchildren, Alli, Joey Barry and Raechel Mastroff.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Forest Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Palm City, FL, officiated by Rabbi Jonathan Kendall of Temple Beit HaYam.
