ALGONA, IOWA -- Universal Mfg. Co. of Algona, Iowa, announced today earnings of 15 cents per share on sales of $2.5 million for the second quarter of the current fiscal year, which ended Jan. 31. This compares to loss of 9 cents per share on sales of $1.9 million the second quarter a year ago. Fiscal year-to-date earnings were 31 cents per share on sales of $5 million.
Don Heupel, president of Universal Mfg. Co., said he attributed the sales increase to continued strong demand for remanufactured transfer case assemblies, which are produced at the company’s manufacturing facility.
