ROYERSFORD, PA -- WAI, a global supplier of rotating electrical, has reached an agreement to acquire the CV shaft, rack and pinion, wiper motor and window lift motor divisions of Mevotech.
Mevotech, a Canadian-based company founded in 1982, is a supplier of chassis parts, control arms, hub bearing assemblies and strut mounts, servicing a broad range of customers across Canada, the United States and Mexico.
The acquisition is a continuation of the company’s strategic plan to focus on expanding its core competencies in the chassis and suspension market. WAI’s Vice President of Aftermarket Sales Tom Lubrano explained that the acquisition will accelerate WAI’s plans of expanding into new markets.
“Mevotech’s reputation as a quality supplier of remanufactured and new products fits well with WAI’s core competencies of manufacturing, global sourcing and distribution," Lubrano said. "We look forward to the contribution that the management team and staff will provide and will continue to use the Montreal facility for distribution, remanufacturing and product development.”
The transaction is expected take place by the end of March.
