Remy International has joined with shareholders of Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper (AAPA) as a participating vendor in the Charity Cars program. This program benefits victims of domestic violence and abuse by enabling them to gain their freedom through the donation of refurbished cars. By acquiring basic, reliable transportation, these former abuse victims can work toward financial independence.

Remy will participate with shareholders, as well as hundreds of parts stores and certified service centers, in an alliance with The Original 1-800-Charity Cars organization to locate, and refurbish vehicles. The goal is to present these vehicles to more than 500 qualified abuse victims at grand award ceremonies throughout the nation in 2008. Remy will supply AAPA Remy customers with an alternator or starter motor needed for any car being refurbished.
