PORTAGE, Wis. -- Penda Corp. has announced the creation of two strategic business units within the company’s corporate structure. The two business units – Automotive and Premier Solutions – will have dedicated resources to accelerate growth in Penda’s target markets.

This new structure will allow Penda to build on its success in these two markets and capitalize on the company’s core competencies in extrusion, thermoforming and assembly of large, heavy-gauge thermoformed products.

Tim Williams will be head of the Automotive business unit, which encompasses Penda’s traditional bedliner and van panel business as well as such new applications as the recently launched thermoplastic tonneau cover for the original equipment and aftermarket channels. Williams, who joined Penda in 1997, has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. At Penda he first led the OE sales department and recently was responsible for business development and diversification. In his new position, Williams assumes responsibility for the core business of the world’s leading manufacturer of thermoformed automotive accessories.

Heidi Bulgrin will head up the Premier Solutions business unit, which includes Penda’s proprietary SmartDitch product line as well as its fast-growing custom-formed business. Bulgrin joined Penda in 2005 and has more than 15 years of experience in heavy-gauge single- and twin-sheet thermoforming. As an engineering team leader, she has won multiple Society of Plastics Engineers Heavy Gauge Thermoforming awards.
