"The Ohio Valley Automotive Aftermarket Association is happy to help these eight young men and women, in some small way, to pursue their goal of a college education," said Gary Murdock, president of OVAAA.

OVAAA, along with several other associations, collaborated with the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee to create an online scholarship resource for students in 2008.

Through this cooperative effort, students were able to complete one online application at www.automotivescholarships.org and receive consideration for the OVAAA Memorial Scholarships, the GAAS scholarships and other awards for which the student met the individual association qualifications.

"We are pleased to have OVAAA join us in the important work of creating this valuable resource for students and promoting this investment in our industry's future," said Pete Kornafel, chairman of the GAAS Scholarship Selection Committee. "Automotivescholarships.org will begin accepting applications in September 2008 for the 2009 scholarships, and we look forward to a continued partnership with OVAAA," he continued.

The scholarship results with student pictures and bios may be viewed on the OVAAA Web site at www.ovaaa.org.
