WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nelson Garcia will join the Washington office of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) as director, federal and state policy beginning July 7. Garcia's duties will include representing the industry on Capitol Hill and in various state legislatures.

Garcia comes to MEMA after almost five years with the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. Prior to his work with ITS America, he worked for the Alliance of American Insurers and on Capitol Hill. Garcia received his BA in political science and international relations from the University of California at Riverside.

"Nelson's experience will greatly enhance the expertise of our Washington office," said Ann Wilson, MEMA's senior vice president of government affairs. "We are very pleased to have him as part of our team serving motor vehicle parts suppliers."
