READING, Pa. -- Penske Truck Leasing has received certification from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for the company's Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) program. Penske said it is the first and only truck leasing, rental and logistics provider to earn an ASE certification for a program of this kind.
Penske's ASE-recognized technician certification program is designed to enhance the skills of its 5,000 U.S. vehicle maintenance technicians and customer service representatives who service more than 200,000 vehicles. The three-tiered program uses Web-based, hands-on and classroom training methods. Penske expects to fully implement its ASE-certified CASE training program companywide over the next 18 months.
"The automotive community is proud of Penske's commitment to a quality in-house technician training program," said Tim Zilke, president, ASE.
Penske Truck Leasing provides its vehicle maintenance technicians with ongoing and robust training programs. In addition to its new CASE program, each vehicle maintenance technician from Penske Truck Leasing typically receives 40 hours of training annually.
