STAMFORD, Conn. -- As a result of tremendous growth over the past year, Green Earth Technologies (GET) has added two new industry veterans to its expanding team. Ron Shaffer, who brings 25 years of operations experience, has been named vice president global supply chain/logistics, and Christian Conley, CPA, who brings 15 years of extensive financial and accounting experience, has been named controller.
“Ron’s extensive experience in operations and global supply chain management, combined with Christian’s impressive financial management background, provide exactly the skill-sets that a fast-growing company needs to thrive,” said Jeff Marshall, president of Green Earth Technologies. “Their added support and expertise could not come at a better time for GET, as we’ve begun expanding globally and are preparing to introduce even more products to an already expansive line.”
In his new position with Green Earth, Shaffer will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations management, supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, planning and forecasting, procurement, purchasing, contract manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and operation of management information and control systems. Shaffer most recently served as the senior director global supply chain at OQO Corp., San Francisco-based mobile computing company where he developed the global supply chain base to support the start-up firm’s cornerstone product: the world’s smallest laptop computer. He succeeded in developing and implementing a strategic plan to secure suppliers, manufacturers and distributors around the world. Prior to joining OQO, Shaffer served in similar roles at Norwood Corp., Iomega Corp., Dixon Ticonderoga, Dell Corp. and Goody Products Rubbermaid. At the helm of operations for each, Shaffer increased efficiency of the production and distribution processes, cut costs, implemented programs for improved operations and management, and established the company as leaders in their industry. Shaffer also spent six years in Logistics with the USAF.
Conley comes to Green Earth with extensive financial and accounting experience gained from his time with two major U.S. brands, Bear Naked Inc. and Pepsi Cola North America. As Vice President of Finance/Controller for Bear Naked Inc., Conley managed day-to-day financial operations during a time of major growth and lead the financial transition after Bear Naked’s acquisition by Kellogg Co. While at Pepsi Cola, Conley was senior manager of co-packer accounting, performing the controller function for the company’s non-carbonated beverage portfolio. He led the co-pack finance team during the initial growth spurt of Frappuccino, Lipton Iced Tea, Dole, SoBe and AMP. Conley managed gross revenues in excess of $1 billion. He was awarded the PepsiCo Chairman’s Award for his service in 2001. Shaffer earned an E.M.B.A in International Business Procurement from Stanford University and a B.S. in Business Management and Finance from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. Conley earned a bachelor of business administration from Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y.
