DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- With the sole purpose of engaging NASCAR fans from coast to coast, a new social networking site for race fans was recently launched. The new site -- http://www.RaceMySpace.com is the newest creation of well-known racing reporter "Captain Thunder."
For the past 10 years, John "Captain Thunder" Nevins has been reporting on the sport of NASCAR and appearing on radio networks such as ESPN Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, XM Satellite Radio and Fox Sports Radio. He can be heard weekly on "The Bubba the Love Sponge Show" on Sirius Satellite Radio, "The Scott Ferrall Show" on Sirius Satellite Radio, and on various ESPN Radio affiliates. He is also a featured guest on independent radio stations across the country.
In addition to his racing coverage for major networks, Captain Thunder also owns and manages popular NASCAR news Web site http://www.CaptainThunderRacing.com.
Nevins’ newest site, http://www.RaceMySpace.com was launched to the NASCAR community on Sept. 12. RaceMySpace.com is a social networking site built just for NASCAR fans and is similar to FaceBook.com or MySpace.com. The site is intended to be a place for NASCAR fans to network, chat, share race pictures and videos from the racetrack, search for and sell race tickets, “talk smack” and make new friends, according to Nevins. Race fans can also customize their own Web pages and show off the colors of their favorite drivers.
