From MEMA Industry News

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration is likely to name Anthony Raimondo, chairman and CEO of Behlen Manufacturing Co. in Columbus, Neb., as its manufacturing czar as early as today, reports Reuters.

Raimondo's official title will be assistant secretary of commerce for manufacturing and services, a position the White House announced last fall.

One of his chief functions will be to help recover some 2.5 million manufacturing jobs lost since early 2001. Listed as an ex officio director of the National Association of Manufacturers, Raimondo has testified before Congress about the merits of a weak U.S. dollar.
