MIDLAND, MI -- The University of the Aftermarket will sponsor workshops covering two key industry topics – aftermarket data standards and performance improvement/employee motivation – in the Detroit area in April.

Industry Standards for Aftermarket Data (Course G508) will be offered April 10-11, at the headquarters of Federal-Mogul Corp., 26555 Northwestern Highway, Southfield, MI 48033.

Balancing Objectives and Measurements (Course G557) will be offered April 10-11, at the Troy, MI, campus of Northwood University, 1900 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 200, Troy, MI 48084.

Developed for aftermarket manufacturer, distributor, store operations and MIS professionals, the Industry Standards for Aftermarket Data workshop will offer participants an in-depth orientation and basic implementation skills for electronic catalog (ACES) and product information (PIES) standards. The workshop will be led by Scott Luckett, AAP, vice president of technology standards and solutions for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association, Doug Winsby, president of The Winsby Group and lead architect of the ACES data standard, and Ryan Vernon of Direct Communications, Inc.

Participants completing Day 1 (ACES) of the Industry Standards for Aftermarket Data workshop will earn .8 continuing education units and Day 2 (PIES) .6 continuing education units, respectively, that may be applied toward a University of the Aftermarket professional designation.

Chuck Udell, MAAP, senior partner of Essential Action Design Group, has developed the Balancing Objectives and Measurements workshop to help aftermarket professionals focus on performance improvement and employee motivation. Participants will come away with a broad range of powerful multidimensional reporting and analysis capabilities tied to an organization’s strategic goals and forecasts. This workshop provides 1.2 continuing education units that may be applied toward a professional designation.

Professional designations available through the University of the Aftermarket are Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP), Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Professional (CVAP), Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP), and Master Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Professional (MCVAP).
