MIDLAND, MI Since last October, Northwood University students have been planning the 44th Annual International Auto Show (NUIAS), which will take place the weekend of September 28-30. The show, billed as North America’s largest outdoor new car show, is held on the Michigan campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland.
Under the guidance of general chair Tiffany Nabozny, a senior from Grass Lake, MI, and her 14-member executive board, several hundred students will be involved in creating the show which attracts 50,000 plus visitors each year. It is held during the peak Fall color season on Northwood’s heavily wooded campus and this year will feature 450 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus an extensive aftermarket exhibit. Throughout the three-day event, show attendees can indulge in the vehicles of the future as well as reminisce with those of yesterday during Sunday’s Classic Car Show.
This year’s theme is “The Desire, The Drive, The Destination…” Team captains will be implementing this theme into their displays created by students.
Many exhibits will line the Mall Walk and offer a variety of food, information, and entertainment. The auto show is free and open to the public.
Show hours are Friday, September 28 from 1 to 6 pm; Saturday, September 29 from 9 am to 6 pm; and Sunday, September 30 from 10 am to 5 pm.
