Ringbrothers announced a new alliance with 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division, formalizing a relationship between the custom car builder and one of the world’s most well-respected refinishing suppliers that spans nearly four decades. This new partnership will result in the development of new tools and comprehensive solutions for the enthusiast market.
“We are excited to announce that 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division is partnering with the Ringbrothers, one of the most innovative custom car builders in the world,” said Andrew Boyd, U.S. marketing supervisor, paint application solutions, 3M. “At 3M, we are always looking at how to put our product solutions to work. We’re excited to expand our presence with the Ringbrothers in the dynamic markets for custom car building, automotive DIYers and automotive enthusiasts. We’re proud to have the Ringbrothers as supporters of 3M automotive product solutions, and we look forward to working with them to share their unique skills, passion and vision for turning cars in masterpieces.”
The announcement was made at the Ringbrothers headquarters in the village of Spring Green, Wisconsin, in front of thousands of automotive enthusiasts who attended the kick-off party for the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour, an annual pilgrimage of like-minded gearheads, that has been dubbed the “world’s largest road trip.” With several award-winning Ringbrothers creations in the background, including the 980hp “Recoil” Chevelle and the 900hp “Happy Camper” Winnebago, co-founders Mike and Jim Ring broke the news alongside 3M representatives Brett Caslow and Boyd.
“We are thrilled to work with a great company like 3M,” said Jim Ring. “We have used 3M adhesives and abrasives since we were kids, and as our business has grown to include collision repair and the creation of award-winning custom cars, 3M has been a part of it every step of the way. We look forward to educating our customers on the build process and teaching them how to create the perfect ride.”
The 3M store at Ringbrothers.com is expected to launch in July 2015.
